When one sets foot into Apa Kaba Guesthouse— you will experience Kampung Banda Kaba’s timeless heritage. Our father Samuel Koe named it after his beloved Melaka ‘kampung’. Apa Kaba Guesthouse is a manifestation of his deep-rooted connection to this land where he grew up and fell in love with our mother Corrine Yong.
Within these walls, four generations of the Yong family have found their cherished home. This village which is a harmonious blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, Eurasian and other races; has witnessed the co-existence and flourishing trade and development since the British India empire set foot and developed Melaka as an Entrepot linking the East and West that transcends boundaries.
A place for family gatherings and friendships, this place exudes warmth and inclusivity. Inspired by our admiration for this mixed-raced community, we invite you to explore our culture. Apakaba Guesthouse stands as a link between cultures; offering you a chance to experience the true Malaysian hospitality, tradition and heritage.
Just as our family’s story is interwoven with Kampung Banda Kaba’s past, come and join us in this journey and be interwoven into Apakaba’s story that is a living tale and embodiment of the Malaysian essence.
